This is the latest tail shape. It combines rounded pin, swallow, and squash tails benefiting from the unique properties of each. It’s giving the rider maximum tail area without compromising speed, hold and drive.
The creature tail has three pins to pivot from and allows for a much straighter outline for extra speed and drive while still maintaining hold. It’s the progression of the shorter and wider trend in surfboard design expanding the range of conditions the tail is ideal in. While your Groveller is maxing out at 3-4ft, the Creature Tail gives you similar drive through flat sections as your small wave board while also holding it’s line in double-overhead surf.
The featured board to the right is 5’11″ x 19″ x 2′ 3/8″ with a fuller nose outline custom made for James who’s about 75 kg and around 175 cm. He’s is riding it in all-around beach and point break conditions. It’s built in super-light, stringer less EPS moulded foam construction glassed with ultra-white epoxy resin. For added strength and flex we’ve inserted fibre glass, inegra-rovings and vector net carbon on the tail.
